Third's a charm (10A Alabama Handmade Art Fair)

It doesn't mean that if we've done this twice before that we are used to it.  We still get excited, nervous and anxious all at the same time.  And of course there's that element of stress in coming up with new products.  However, for this fair we have decided to keep our cool and just concentrate on new covers for our journals.  Also, we have decided not to scan our new covers and post it here...you might say it's part of keeping our cool (actually, we really don't have time to scan and post).  So, here's a teaser of what you can find at the artefact booth tomorrow and sunday (that is if it's not sold out by saturday afternoon...yabang ba?):

1) critters, bingo and bike magnets
2) last 6 tiki notes
3) wooden clips (with and without magnet)
4) wishy washy bottles
5) gift tags
6) gift kits
7) and of course our bestseller, our journals - there's something for fans of reading, bikes, maps, Eraserheads, APO Hiking Society, Beatles and even Yoyoy Villame

For our individual projects, Arlene has created new collages, framed and in postcard form.  Each is a unique piece of art.  Minnie, on the other hand, will be launching her new endeavor, punla.  She is a plant enthusiast who now wants to share her potted (or in a glass or shell) plant creations at the art fair.

So, if you've never been to the first and second fair at 10A Alabama, don't you dare miss the third one.  We are so sure that you will find something that you will like (and buy).  If not from us, then from our fellow artists and crafters .  See you this weekend!

Part 2: 10a Alabama Loot

We know we're all busily preparing for the 10a Alabama Art Exchange this weekend (hooray!).  But before our stress levels go up from too much clay forming, cutting, pasting, painting, clipping, snipping and sketching, let's take a breather and look at some of the goodies we scored at last May's arts and crafts fair (remember this post?).  Here's Part 2 of Artefact's 10a Alabama loot.

This is actually Minnie's loot--  Picture frames with Sinag's papercut art, crochet earrings from Obra Paduding's Erika, a re-purposed plastic bag bracelet from Tina and a pendant made from old magazines from Ya'Lin Handmade Accessories.

Aren't you just amazed at the talent of these artists and crafters?! Can't wait to see them again this weekend!

Stay tuned for our next loot bag :-).  See you this Saturday & Sunday!

10a Alabama Loot Part 1

Where in the world can you find an arts & crafts fair where you get to hear Rilke read in German and English under a big tree.. see junk resurrected...meet a blue bird on a gate...eat a sumptuous backpacker's lunch prepared by a tea laboratory...make friends with 2 dogs who are better dressed than most of the vendors...and, of course, meet a bunch of talented artists and crafters?  Ahh, 10a Alabama, where have you been all our lives?

It was truly a wonderful experience to meet like-minded people who are so passionate about their art and craft, and even more wonderful to make friends with them.  Many thanks again to Leah, Robert, Binggoy and Jetro for such a great weekend.  We look forward to more happy weekends at 10a Alabama.

But we here at Artefact not only made friends and peddled our handmade wares; we also shopped, and shopped...and shopped.  Here's part 1 of our loot...

Lomo  LC-A keychain from Jazel, small paintings from Montalut, re-purposed plastic bag bracelets from Tina, fabric TV pin from Angela of Ducks and Cherries, and a dog toy from Rica of dandd closet.
